Ballerait, knifesmith, it’s a frustration story above all.

 

After 17 years in the audio-visual industry, Charles Ballerait is “hand frustrated”. He wants to design and manufacture concrete and sustainable objects. This “old geek” as his likes to describe himself, tries the forge dreaming about making the Lord of Rings swords. His meeting with the master knifesmith Raymond Rosa and his first initiation transform his delusion into a desire to open an artisanal cutlery in Paris.

It will be Ballerait, Knifesmith, Paris. Located in the “Cour de l’Industrie” in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, the historical district of the craftmen in Paris, the knifesmith reaffirms the link between the craftmen and their ground and revives the knifesmithing in the capital of Paris.
